According to a report from Golf Channel's Tim Rosaforte, Tiger Woods has begun to hit full shots after being restricted to pitching and chipping since back surgery in late March.

He has been working through his bag at Medalist in south Florida.

Does it mean that the 14-time major champion will return for the Open Championship in mid-July? That is yet to be determined, as Woods has not commented on his progress since announcing he wouldn't play in last week's U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

Woods is still recovering from microdiscectomy surgery that dealt with a pinched back nerve, performed on March 31.

Prior to the surgery, Woods had only three starts in 2014 – one of which ended in a withdrawal due to the bad back.
