Michigan State drew teams from across the country for the Colleton River Collegiate at the Colleton River Dye Course in Bluffton, S.C.

Kennesaw State headlines the nine-team field, coming in as the only team ranked in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.

The field includes: Connecticut, Detroit, Kennesaw State (No. 38), Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Oakland, Rutgers, Seattle and Winthrop.

Kennesaw State opened its spring slate at The Farms Collegiate Invitational, picking up a runner-up finish. Junior Jimmy Beck, the No. 36 individual in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, tied for first at the tournament.

Host Michigan State was in action at the Big Ten Match Play Championship previously. The Spartans went 2-1 at the event, finishing with a win over Wisconsin.

Penn State won the tournament last year, but will not return to defend its title.

The tournament featured only four teams a year ago.
