Austen Truslow's victory in a four-hole playoff at the AJGA Puerto Rico Junior Open in January earned him a spot in the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open, which starts Thursday.

Here's a Q&A with Truslow about the event and what he's doing to prepare:

• • •

What is it like to have a chance to play in a PGA Tournament?

"It definitely is a dream come true. It is a bit overwhelming, I will say."

• • •

Have you asked Jorge (Garcia, last year's champion) for advice?

"I feel like I should ask Jorge for some advice. But, I've asked my coaches and people that know a lot about the game. I've been talking to the right people, and I'm just going to have a good week no matter where my game is. Just being there is pretty cool. But I'm definitely going to go there and do my best. I'm not there just to sit around and watch inside the ropes. I want to play."

• • •

What will you be your strategy?

"I'm just going to go out and set a good game plan in my practice round and stick to my game plan throughout the week. I'm going to stick to how I've played that course before. I know the course will be a little different, but, luckily, I'm pretty familiar and comfortable with that course."

• • •

How is your game right now?

"I'm preparing for this tournament the way I would any other tournament. I'm not trying to build it up to be some sort of different game. In the end, we're playing the same exact golf course. I've been training at my academy and playing some holes. The last couple of weeks I've been working a lot on my swing, but this week I started playing a lot more holes just to get hole reps in. My game has been struggling a little bit over the last couple of weeks, but I've I don't feel like I'm peaking, but I'm getting a little better every day. It's important just to keep a good attitude and try to be progressively better every day. ... I'm going to play a mini-tour event to get a rep in, because I tend to play my best golf after I play a bunch of consecutive events."
