Houston picked up its second straight victory of the spring, winning the Querencia Cabo Collegiate and snapping top-ranked Alabama's 11-tournament winning streak.
The Cougars shot 6-over 290 Tuesday to finish at 11 over, one shot ahead of the Crimson Tide. Baylor (18 over) and Kentucky (20 over) finished third and fourth, respectively, while SMU and Vanderbilt tied for fifth at 23 over.
Houston's Roman Robledo took medalist honors at 4-under 209. Baylor's Kyle Jones was second at 3 under while Alabama's Robby Shelton finished third at 1 under.
Shelton and fellow freshman Gavin Moynihan (T-6) were the top finishers for the Crimson Tide, who had their top-ranked player, Trey Mullinax, tie for 38th.
Here was former Alabama player Bud Cauley's reaction via his Twitter account, @Bud Cauley: "sad to see the winning streak come to an end.. but 11 in a row was a hell of a run @AlabamaMGolf . go get the W next week #rolltide"
