Horschel: Doral 'should be a good course' in 2015

Billy Horschel, after playing Doral's renovated Blue Monster during the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship, says it needs more work (Horschel is shown here during the previous week's Honda Classic).

Billy Horschel had some curt words for the redesigned Blue Monster course after he finished his week at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

After signing for a 73 Sunday that gave him an even-par weekend in finishing 11 over, good for about 50th place midway through the afternoon, Horschel took to Twitter.

@BillyHo_Golf: "On the way back to Jax. Look forward to coming back next year and playing Trump Doral after the CHANGES. Should be a good course then"

That elicited plenty of responses from followers, some of which Horschel answered. Here are a few snippets from his replies:

  • "Well you haven't played the course."
  • "I think there are several good holes but several holes need to be tweaked for playability and fairness"
  • (when asked what he would change) "3 green. Changes to fairway bunkers on 6,7,17. Those are the holes that come to mind"
  • "Sometimes luck plays to much a part in our game. And this week was one of those week because of some of the holes"

Horschel wrapped things up:

@BillyHo_Golf: "Ok well it's time for me to drive. No tweeting and driving. Talk to everyone in 5 hours! Range rover coming through. #home"

After that, fellow University of Florida product Mark Calcavecchia chimed in:

@MarkCalc: "@BillyHo_Golf hey Billy. 9 looks brutally bad. 3 green. 10 dumb. 4 was good the way it was. Looks bad now. Other than that looks good to me"
