UNCG moves into lead at Pinehurst Intercollegiate

Pinehurst No. 2 will host the U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open this summer, but Monday it played host to the second round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.

North Carolina-Greensboro shot 9-over 289 in Monday's second round at the famed North Carolina course to take the lead. UNCG, ranked 57th in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, trailed Belmont by three shots after the first round at Pinehurst No. 8, but now lead by 10 shots at 27 over.

The Spartans also held the first-round lead at last week's USF Invitational before finishing third.

Eastern Kentucky's Patric Sundlof is the individual leader at 3-over 144 while UNCG's Roy Dixon and Richmond's Danny Pizetoski are tied for second, one shot back.
