LSU's Myles Lewis carded a final-round, 6-under 66 to claim medalist honors Tuesday at the Louisiana Classics.

Lewis finished at 10-under 206 at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La., three shots ahead of teammate Curtis Thompson, and Illinois' Charlie Danielson and Thomas Detry.

The 31st-ranked Tigers had a nice final round, too, shooting 5-under 283. But it wasn't enough to overtake No. 7 Illinois, which closed with 290 to finish in first at 25 under, six shots clear of LSU.

The Illini and Tigers combined to place nine players in the top 10 individually. LSU had six players at T-9 or better, but two of them were competing as individuals, including Lewis.
