USC claimed its first victory of the season at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic on Tuesday.

USC shot 8-under 280 in the final round to win by seven shots. The team shot three-round total of 12-under 852 total at San Diego Country Club.

San Diego State finished in second at 5-under 859. Wake Forest finished in third after a 4-under 282 in the final round, three shots back of the Aztecs. Michigan placed fourth at 7 over and San Diego finished in finish at 9 over.

San Diego State junior Xander Schauffele shot rounds of 67-71-67 for an 11-under 205 total to win the individual title. Schauffele won his first tournament of the season by two shots over USC freshman Rico Hoey. Wake Forest’s Danny Guise and San Diego’s Taylor Schmidt tied for third at 6-under 210.
