Hawaii hosts Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

Ally McDonald and Mississippi State make their first appearance in Hawaii at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

Sixteen teams will tee off at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Tuesday and Wednesday at the Kaneohe (Hawaii) Klipper Golf Course.

Five teams in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings' top 50 will play the par-72, 6,099-yard course.

The field includes Columbia, Gonzaga (No. 43), Hawaii, Hawaii-Hilo, Idaho, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mississippi State (No. 31), NC State (No. 22), North Texas, Osaka Gakuin, SMU (No. 45), TCU (No. 50), Texas-El Paso and Washington State.

The teams will play 36 holes Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday.

Mississippi State's Ally McDonald heads into the tournament after earning SEC Golfer of the Week on Feb 26. She led the SEC in stroke average at 71.12 at the time of the award.
