Oklahoma leads by 3 at Border Olympics

Oklahoma took a three-shot lead after Friday's opening two rounds of the Border Olympics at Laredo (Texas) Country Club.
The Sooners followed their first-round, 1-over 289 with a second-round 280 to finish the day at 7-under 569. Baylor, which also shot 8 under in the afternoon, is second at 4 under while Houston, coming off two straight wins, is third at 2 over.
Individually, Baylor's Jerry Ruiz shot 7-under 65 in Round 2 to take a two-shot lead at 7 under. He leads second-place Michael Gellerman of Oklahoma and Roman Robledo of Houston. Robledo is looking for his second straight individual win.
Charlie Saxon, the other Oklahoma player in the top 5, is tied for fifth.
