Mercer, No. 37 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, leads the Seminole Intercollegiate after a first round 6-under 282 at Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee, Fla.

James Madison is in second after a 1-under 287. South Florida is in third at 1 over. Host Florida State is in fourth after a 2-over 290. North Carolina is in third, three shots back.

Mercer’s Trey Rule shot a 3-under 69 to lead the individual leaderboard. He made five birdies and two bogeys on the par-72 7,1712-yard course.

Coastal Carolina’s Ben Wheeler, James Madison’s Jon Weiss, Mercer Hans Reimers and Florida State’s Jack Maguire are tied for second, one shot back after 2-under 70s.
