Alabama, Georgia tied at Linger Longer Invitational

Alabama, No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, and No. 5 Georgia are tied for the lead after the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational on Saturday.
Both teams shot 20-under 556 at Great Waters Golf Course in Eatonton, Ga., and are nine shots ahead of the field entering Sunday's final round.
Oklahoma, which was leading after Round 1, shot 7 over in the second round and sits in a tie for third with Mercer at 11 under. Kennesaw State is fifth at 5-under 281.
Alabama freshman Robby Shelton, No. 2 in the Golfweek individual rankings, shot 69-66 on Saturday at the par-72 7,073-yard course. Top-ranked Joey Garber of Georgia stands second at 8-under 136 total, one shot back of Shelton. Five players are tied for third at 6 under.
