Clemson looks for 1st win at Briar's Creek

Freshman Ashlan Ramsey and the Clemson Tigers come into the Briar's Creek Invitational as the No. 15 team in the country.

Clemson will make at stop at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek on Johns Island, S.C., as it searches for its first win of the season at the Briar's Creek Invitational. The Tigers, which sit at No. 15 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, have been close all season with five top three finishes, but have yet to take a title.

The team headlines a field that will play 36 holes on Monday and another 18 on Tuesday.

The field includes Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Clemson (No. 15), Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina (No. 47), East Tennessee State, GRU Augusta (No. 38), Illinois (No. 46), Indiana, Kansas (No. 41), Maryland, Penn State, Princeton, South Florida, Texas Tech and Wisconsin (No. 42).

Notre Dame took the tournament last year after finishing at 42-over 906, but will not return to defend its title.
