Feng wins Symetra Tour's Florida’s Natural Charity Classic

Yueer "Cindy" Feng, show here during the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur, won her first Symetra Tour event on Sunday at Lake Wales Country Club.

Yueer “Cindy” Feng claimed her first Symetra Tour victory at Florida’s Natural Charity Classic on Sunday at Lake Wales (Fla.) Country Club.

The 18-year-old shot a final-round, 5-under 67 and finished at 9 under for the tournament.

Feng entered the final round one shot back of leader Maude-Aimee Leblanc, but made consecutive birdies on Nos. 7-9 and took control of the tournament for good when she eagled the 10th.

In her third event on the Symetra Tour, Feng earned $18,750, which moves her into the top spot on the Volvik Race for the Card money list through three events.

“This win takes the pressure off a little bit to know that I am able to perform well out here and to know I have a head start,” said Feng. “Knowing that I won the event with a bigger purse always helps too.”

Feng has conditional LPGA status through Q-School and plans on playing a full Symetra Tour schedule in 2014.

Jackie Stoelting, Megan McChrystal and Leblanc finished in a tie for second at 5 under.
