Georgia State and Virginia Tech could not gain any separation at the Furman Intercollegiate. The two teams shared the title after finishing at 9 under through 54 holes at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

“This was a great result for us,” Georgia State head coach Joe Inman said in a release. “We would have loved to have earned the title all to ourselves, but to share it with the No. 10 team in the country is not a bad thing."

Virginia Tech's Trevor Cone took medalist honors, finishing at 11-under 205. Cone recorded two eagles in his final round, which he finished at 2-under 70. He finished the tournament with 17 birdies and two eagles for the Hokies, the No. 16 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.

Georgia State placed two players in the top five – J.J. Grey, who finished second at 10-under 206, and Davin White, who finished at 5 under.

Kennesaw State (2 under), Akron (11 over) and Elon (17 over) rounded out the top five.

The win was the first of the spring for Georgia State and the second in a row for Virginia Tech. The Hokies took the title at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular on March 16.
