Monday, May 12, 2014
Jeff Parks has announced his resignation as head golf coach effective at the end of Louisiana Tech's season, ending a six-year tenure in the post and 11 at the school. Parks will pursue other opportunities, according to a Louisiana Tech release.
"Throughout his tenure he worked tirelessly to improve the program and has brought the Bulldog golf team to new heights," athletic director Tommy McClelland said. "He is leaving the program at a level better than it has ever been and we look forward to his successor continuing to build on the foundation Jeff laid."
Victor Lange qualified as an individual for NCAA regionals this season under Parks' coaching, while five players have earned all-conference honors during his tenure – including Lange earning second-team Conference USA honors this year. Lange will play in the San Antonio regional.
"I love Louisiana Tech and am going to continue to be an ardent fan and supporter of the Bulldogs," Parks said. "I look forward to watching this program continue to grow."
