Seniors Trey Mullinax and Cory Whitsett keyed the Crimson Tide as they were the only team to finish the opening round under par amid challenging weather conditions. Senior Niclas Carlsson of the host Tigers said he'd never seen the course play so long and wet. Louisville senior Robin Sciot-Siegrist of France leads individually thanks to a 3-under 69.

Columbia (Mo.) Regional

Carried in part by individual leader Jordan Niebrugge's 65, the Cowboys opened up a nine-shot lead out of the gate, as the Wisconsin native was comfortable amid cold, windy conditions – and found the greens to his liking as well. The host Tigers seem plenty fine as well, with senior Hunter Kraus posting the day's third-lowest score at 68.

Eugene (Ore.) Regional

Stanford junior Patrick Rodgers, who will turn pro after the Cardinal's NCAA run ends, said he didn't have his A-game – but played well enough to top the field and propel Stanford to the top of the leaderboard. North Florida is led by M.J. Maguire, who said he relied on experience and his game plan for the day in carding a 2-under 68.

Raleigh (N.C.) Regional

First-round play suspended

Georgia Tech led at 14 under when weather called an early end to the first day of play in Raleigh, with Washington second and four shots back. The first round is set to restart Friday at 11:30 a.m., with a 30-minute break before the start of the second round.

Bulldogs freshman Greyson Sigg picked a good time to match his season-low round of 68, good for third individually and pushing UGA to the first-round lead. Sigg is a shot back of SMU's Bryson Dechambeau and TCU's Julien Brun, who keyed their respective Lone Star State teams. Zach Munroe led a surprising Charleston surge with a 2-under 70.

Sugar Grove (Ill.) Regional

Alabama Birmingham's top four players are in the top 11 individually, moving the Blazers atop the leaderboard. Kent State, which has advanced from the regional to the championship in five of the last six seasons, boasts three seniors from the 2012 MAC-champion squad. Last year's favorite, Cal, is seventh. Host Illinois' Brian Campbell leads individually after a 3-under 69.
