USGA announces 25 exemptions into U.S. Open

The USGA announced 25 more full exemptions into next month's U.S. Open at Pinehurst on Tuesday, including Miguel Angel Jimenez, Harris English, Russell Henley, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Patrick Reed.

The exemptions were awarded to players that are in the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking as of May 26. There are now 75 fully exempt players in the field, with sectional qualifying in the U.S. set to take place on Monday. After sectionals, a player can also gain an exemption by being in the OWGR's top 60 as of June 9.

The other players who earned exemptions on Monday were: Thomas Bjorn, Jonas Blixt, Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson, Matthew Every, Stephen Gallacher, Thongchai Jaidee, Matt Jones, Chris Kirk, Pablo Larrazabal, Joost Luiten, Francesco Molinari, Ryan Moore, Ryan Palmer, John Senden, Kevin Stadler, Richard Sterne, Brendon Todd and Jimmy Walker.
