Arkansas Razorbacks

Preseason rank: 6

Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 7

2013-14 in review: Arkansas became the team to beat in the SEC after victories at the Mercedes-Benz, Lady Puerto Rico Classic and LSU Golf Classic. One of the biggest shocks of the season was that the Razorbacks did not advance to the national championship.

Notable departures: Emily Tubert, Emma Lavy

Key returnees: Gaby Lopez, Regina Plasencia, Summar Roachell

Newcomers of note: Jordy LaBarbera, Alana Uriell, Samantha Marks, Shawn Rennegarbe

Circled on fall calendar: Cougar Classic

Fall outlook: Arkansas benefits from both familiarity and fresh faces. Mexicans Lopez and Plasencia are a formidable one-two punch, and they return to the roster for a third year. Lopez can be a player-of-the-year candidate. Expect Roachell to move into the No. 3 spot, and let the competition begin for Nos. 4 and 5. It’s an excellent scenario, and the candidates include three highly ranked freshman plus North Carolina transfer Samantha Marks.
