Arizona

Preseason rank: 4

Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 9

2013-14 in review: Arizona earned its sole victory of the season at the Gator Invitational, but could have easily – and should have – nabbed more than that. A tie for second at the Pac-12 Championship and a seventh-place finish at NCAAs helped redeem a slow start to the season.

Notable departures: None

Key returnees: Lindsey Weaver, Wanasa Zhou, Manon Gidali

Newcomers of note: Krystal Quihuis

Circled on fall calendar: Annika Intercollegiate

Fall outlook: Arizona doesn’t lose any players from last season’s squad, and adds standout freshman Quihuis. All the pieces are there for success. Weaver will lead, look for Gidali (who seemed to come out on the right side of a slump during NCAAs) to return to form and count on scores from Zhou in addition to seniors Kendall Prince, Shelby Martinek and Andrea Vilarasau and sophomore Jessica Vasilic. In short, there should be no weak spot on the this team, and many different lineup possibilities.
