Fox Sports apparently has settled on the cornerstones for its golf announcing crew.

Anchor Joe Buck will be paired with Greg Norman in the 18th tower when Fox Sports broadcasts its first U.S. Open in 2015, according to media reports and other sources.

Buck is Fox Sports’ top anchor for football and baseball, and also an avid golfer.

Norman has been rumored to be part of Fox Sports’ plans since the network acquired the U.S. Golf Association’s television rights in August. One source told Golfweek that Norman has signed a five-year contract with Fox Sports.

The network ...

Bubba Watson's win in the 2014 Masters came amid lower television ratings on CBS and ESPN.

Enthralling as Bubba Watson's shotmaking was Sunday during his Masters victory, it couldn't overcome several factors that led to a ratings drop.

CBS' broadcast of the final round from Augusta National dropped 24 percent year-over-year to a 7.8 rating, USA Today reported. It was even down from Watson's win two years ago, which drew an 8.1.

ESPN said Saturday that its Thursday and Friday telecasts averaged a 1.6 rating, down from 2.5 a year earlier. CBS' Saturday broadcast drew a 4.4, down from 6.3 a year earlier.

Tiger Woods underwent back surgery after the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship, missed the Masters and might not return in time for the U.S. Open at Pinehurst.

Tiger Woods, who underwent surgery last month and withdrew from the Masters on April 1, seemingly will be in recuperation mode "past the U.S. Open," his friend and Golf Channel analyst Notah Begay III told CBS Sports Radio.

As Woods missed the Masters last week, viewership dipped as Bubba Watson won at Augusta National. He remained World No. 1 as the three players who could have taken the top spot – Adam Scott, Jason Day and Henrik Stenson – didn't contend at the Masters.

In a statement on his website April 1, Woods had said that he was expected to ...

Bubba Watson's second Masters victory vaulted him to first in the latest U.S. Ryder Cup standings.

Watson replaced Jimmy Walker in the top spot, running his point total to 6,258.984. Walker, a three-time winner this season on PGA Tour, is second with 4,459.071 points.

Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Matt Kuchar, Jason Dufner, Phil Mickelson and Harris English also are in the top nine. Zach Johnson is 10th, less than 100 points behind English.

Nine players automatically qualify for the U.S. team while three more players will be selected by U.S ...

Tiger Woods during a 2012 news conference at Augusta National.

Despite talk that he could lose his No. 1 ranking following the Masters, Tiger Woods remained in the top spot of the Official World Golf Ranking Sunday.

With 8.8665 points, Woods, who did not play at Augusta National after undergoing back surgery, is still 0.5837 points ahead of second-ranked Adam Scott, who tied for 14th in his Masters title defense.

Sunday's winner of the green jacket, Bubba Watson, who also won the tournament in 2012, jumped to fourth, improving eight spots from a week ago. Jordan Spieth, the runner-up along with Jonas Blixt, cracked the top 10 ...

Bubba Watson tweeted a selfie photo with his wife, Angie, and a Waffle House crowd after winning the 2014 Masters in Augusta, Ga.

The first Masters champions dinner for Bubba Watson after his 2014 victory? Waffle House. (Hold all your victory-hangover jokes, please.)

Watson is a rural Southern man, after all, and Augusta National is firmly embedded in Dixieland. It's a fair guess that after winning your second Masters championship, no waffle is awful.

Which begs the question: What would be your first meal after exiting Magnolia Lane after winning the Masters? Answer in the comments below or tweet to us with #Golfweek.

Several years ago, our Jeff Rude explored the atmosphere that is a Waffle House in Augusta. And hilarity ensued.

The prize money at the 2014 Masters was released on Sunday at Augusta National.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The purse at the Masters is undisclosed for much of the week, but Sunday at Augusta National the tournament released the details of what players will take home this week.

As Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth duke it out down the stretch, there is a $648,000 difference between first and second place, so they have more to play for than just the green jacket.

There are only 50 places listed because Oliver Goss is an amateur and therefore cannot claim any monetary prize.

  • 1st, $1,620,000
  • 2nd, $972,000
  • 3rd, $612,000
  • 4th, $432,000

Larry Mize shot a 7-over 79 on Sunday and finished 16 over for the 2014 Masters.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – A battle of Augusta residents turned into a nice stroll around Augusta National for Larry Mize on Sunday, playing alongside "marker" Jeff Knox.

Mize will likely want to forget about the 7-over 79, but the 55-year-old was happy to be a part of the six 50-somethings to make the cut at the Masters.

"Felt good to play the weekend, obviously. It wasn't the weekend I wanted, but I just struggled. As good as I putted on the first two days, especially Friday, that's as bad as I've putted on the weekend," said Mize, the 1987 ...

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Everyone has their own Kryptonite – and Rickie Fowler might just know what is giving Bubba Watson such a huge advantage this week at the Masters.

A hint: He's adorable and pretty much runs Watson's life.

That'd be 2-year-old Caleb, Watson's adopted son that was the buzz of Augusta National when Watson won his first green jacket in 2012.

He and wife, Angie, adopted Caleb a week before that life-changing victory.

"He's definitely more relaxed. He's enjoying life a little bit more. Having Caleb around and having a family, golf is not his ...

Bubba Watson during Friday's second round of the 2014 Masters at Augusta National.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – After shooting 4-under 68 at Augusta National and taking a three-stroke lead into Saturday’s third round of the Masters, Bubba Watson has been installed as a 3-2 favorite in Las Vegas to win his second green jacket.

Watson, the 2012 Masters champion, started the week at a promising 20-1 pick, but far behind co-favorites Rory McIlroy and defending champion Adam Scott, who were 10-1 choices.

Scott, now four shots back of Watson, is a 5-1 pick by oddsmakers, and McIlroy has fallen to 80-1 after shooting 77 on Friday ...

Phil Mickelson was a bit wild with his wedges, leading to a 4-over 76 on Thursday at the Masters.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Phil Mickelson shot 76, one off his high in 21 previous Masters. He made a short-game triple bogey on a hole (No. 7) where he had never made worse than bogey. He made a double bogey at 15, where his third shot spun back into the pond. And, understandably, he walked off disappointed.

"It wasn't the best day for me," he said.

But there's a stunning kicker.

"I actually played well," the three-time Masters champion said. "I know it's hard (to believe). . . . But I don't feel like my game is off. I don't ...
