Maintaining a flat left wrist helps Points make a flatter backswing. Points used to cup the left wrist, which promoted a more vertical plane. “If your left wrist is cupped, you are going to be steep and your clubface will be open,” Mogg said. Points’ clubface was open and across the line at the top of his swing. It now points slightly left of his target because his swing is slightly short of parallel (pictured above).
