VIDEO: Angela Stanford holes out for eagle on the fly at U.S. Women’s Open
Angela Stanford has seven top-5 finishes in majors without a win, but with more shots like the one below, this could be her week.
The 38-year-old American came to CordeValle’s par-4 sixth Friday during the second round of the U.S. Women’s Open even par for the day and 1 under for the tournament.
After putting her drive 90 yards from the hole, her approach shot never touched the green. That’s because it flew straight into the cup.

Talk about your quickest path to the hole. The eagle put Stanford at 3 under, where she stands now (in a tie for 13th) with four holes to play in her second round.
