Hey everybody! The last few weeks have been really crazy and fun. It started with the Kentucky Women’s Open at Wildwood CC in Louisville where I shot 70-72 to win by two shots over Leah Wigger and amateur Jessica Smith.
I got a sponsor exemption into the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic in Toledo, Ohio. I had played there as an amateur in 2008 after winning the Monday qualifier, so I was excited that I was familiar with the course.
Since I last wrote from Atlantic City, I have been to Defiance, Ohio to play in the Ohio Women’s Open, and to Providence, R.I., for a pro-am.
Yesterday I attempted to Monday qualify again for the LPGA event this week, the ShopRite LPGA Classic. I gave it a great effort and shot even-par 71, but missed a two-way playoff for the last spot by one shot.
Considering my last actual tournament was the LET event in Germany, (besides U.S. Open qualifying), it feels like I haven’t actually competed in a while.
I played Monday in the U.S. Women’s Open qualifier at Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Ill. The course was in perfect condition and I really enjoyed playing there. I was a little surprised at the setup, however, because it was much shorter than any of the other USGA qualifiers I’ve played.
Last week I played the Ladies European Tour event in Munich, Germany. While we were there, the LET hosted a few events that showed us the local culture.
Last week I traveled to Antalya, Turkey, for my second Ladies European Tour event of the season. The tournament hotel was the beautiful Susesi Resort right on the beach.
