Off Campus: Teams Heading Down

Even though the college season is in full swing, there are a few schools we know of that will need coaches by season’s end. Bob Livingstone is retiring at Long Beach State, and any front-runners have yet to be named for the job. Assistant coaches, get your resumes together because this can be a good job for a young go-getter. If the administration steps up and provides more support, the position will be that much better. On the women’s side, Bill Dicus will become the full-time men’s coach at Appalachian State, and the search is on for a full-time women’s coach. Athletics Director Charlie Cobb feels in order to have more success in their conference, one head coach for each team is the way to go. Two good jobs await for a couple of young coaches looking to get their start in Division I golf. - Lance
