Southeastern Louisiana takes Southland men's title

Southeastern Louisiana, No. 83 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, clinched a postseason bid with its victory Wednesday in the Southland Conference Championship. The Lions finished at 29-over 893, 13 shots better than Central Arkansas. The Lions' final round was the low score of the day by nine shots.
Southeastern Louisiana shot 301-304-288 to win its first conference title since 2010.
The Lions started the final round with a two-shot lead over Central Arkansas, which shot 299 in the final round. Central Arkansas' four scorers played the final two holes in 10 over par.
Southeastern Louisiana's Rhys West, No. 199 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, won the individual title with a 4-over 220 (73-76-71) total at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas. West finished two shots better than Central Arkansas' Pep Angles. West made bogey on the final two holes, while Angles played the final two holes in 5 over par; he was 4 under for the round's first 16 holes.
