An abundance of driver adjustability
For 2013, adjustable drivers dominate the landscape. For the first time, every major golf equipment manufacturer will showcase at least one adjustable driver at the PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 24-26 in Orlando, Fla.
This impressive collection of drivers will include the first adjustable driver from Tour Edge and the second adjustable driver from Ping (following the adjustable Anser driver).
All adjustable drivers come with a torque wrench and require golfers to choose their appropriate settings. Depending on the company and the design of the driver, choices can include loft, lie and face angle. In the case of the Adams Super LS, even the length is adjustable.

Adams Super LS
The skinny: In the jargon of the trade, the Super LS driver is a “spin killer” and will appeal to many players with high swing speeds. The Super LS is designed as a complement to the Super S. Golfers wanting slightly more spin (for additional trajectory height and more workability) should look at the Super S, while golfers desiring less spin should investigate the Super LS. The LS, like the S, has a Velocity Slot in the sole to promote distance and expand the sweet spot. The LS stock shaft is the Mitsubishi Kuro Kage.

The skinny: From address, this driver has a larger profile than previous Ping drivers. The G Series drivers are known for their solid sound and feel, and the G25 carries on that tradition. Comes with a proprietary TFC 189D shaft. This high-modulus graphite shaft has extra material added to the butt end of the shaft, raising the balance point for greater ball velocity and forgiveness.

TaylorMade RocketBallz Stage 2
The skinny: The story here is new graphics on the outside and plenty of changes on the inside, as TaylorMade has lowered the center of gravity and moved it forward on the second generation RocketBallz driver. This is intended to create more ball speed for longer drives. The clubface has a bigger look at address. The standard model comes with a Fujikura RocketFuel shaft, while the tour version has a Matrix 6Q3 shaft.

Tour Edge Exotics XCG6
The skinny: Dave Glod, who founded Tour Edge in 1985, is dedicated to making his drivers as popular as his fairway woods. The company’s Exotics fairway woods are played by numerous touring pros. With the new Exotics XCG6 driver and its multilevel face design, Glod believes he has taken a major step forward in feel and forgiveness as well as distance. Multilevel means the forged titanium face is thinned or thickened in strategic areas, promoting maximum elongation of the titanium. Comes stock with a Matrix Ozik HD shaft.
