Stacy Lewis, Mizuno agree to two-year contract

ORLANDO, Fla. – Stacy Lewis signed another two-year contract with Mizuno on Jan. 24 at the PGA Merchandise Show. The 2012 LPGA Rolex Player of the Year has played Mizuno irons since her freshman year of college, when she tried nearly every brand after back surgery to correct scoliosis.
“When I turned pro, I said, ‘I don’t want to play any other clubs. If you can get me a deal with them, great. If not, I still want to play their clubs,’ ” Lewis said.
Lewis is Mizuno’s only female staff player from the U.S., and in the Japanese company's room at the PGA Merchandise Show, she gave an engineer feedback on a new driver. Her old driver cracked at the Evian last summer from overuse, and she used a backup for the rest of the year.
Lewis, the No. 3 player in the Rolex Rankings, won four times in 2012 using Mizuno JPX irons, woods and MP wedges. She became the first American player to win the LPGA’s Player of the Year award since Beth Daniel in 1994.
"I’m not going to have a good year and switch everything,” Lewis said. “People do it a lot.”
