A day after the Americans finalized their 12-woman Junior Solheim Cup team, Europe has named its team. The multi-national European squad includes four players in the top 20 in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Denmark’s Emily Pedersen, No. 13 in the world, headlined the points list, followed by Swede Linnea Strom, No. 20, and Englishwoman Georgia Hall, No. 7 and recent winner of the British Women’s Amateur.
Shannon Aubert, a Frenchwoman who plays and practices out of Orlando, Fla., also qualified by being one of the top six points getters. The remaining two players to qualify by points were Amber Ratcliffe of England and Karolin Lampert of Germany, No. 11 in the world.
Captain Janice Moodie, a former Solheim Cup player, selected six wild cards to round out the team, including Virginia Elena Carta, Italy; Anyssia Herbaut, France; Bronte Law, England; Harang Lee, Spain; Jessica Vasilic, Sweden and Anne van Dam from the Netherlands.
The event will be played Aug. 12-14 at The Inverness Golf Club in Englewood, Colo.
