While the likes of Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson and Vijay Singh have all withdrawn from the Wells Fargo Championship this week, there are still plenty of big names to make this week in Charlotte a marquee stop on the PGA Tour.

Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia all return to action, while Rickie Fowler is back to defend his only career Tour title.

Our panel is split this week on a clear frontrunner, with Webb Simpson the only player being chosen by more than one of our experts. Westwood, Garcia and McIlroy are also favorites.

As for the season standings, Lance Ringler has moved to within a $100,000 of leader Nick Masuda after his correct pick of Billy Horschel at the Zurich Classic.

Take a look at this week's picks:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Webb Simpson

In his last start, he lost a playoff at RBC Heritage, his third top-6 finish of the year. Also, he finished fourth at Wells Fargo last year.

D.A. Points

He's hot and going back to place he likes. In the last month, Points has won in Houston and finished second in New Orleans, the latter on Sunday. And last year he played off at Wells Fargo.

Winner: Justin Rose ($102,300); wild card: Charley Hoffman (MC). 2013 total: $5,442,422

McCabe Lee Westwood

When playing at a ball-striker's venue, give the nod to a premier ball-striker. T-5 here a year ago.

Hunter Mahan

Certainly not based on recent form, as he is 24-over for his last seven rounds. But he's too good to not reverse that trend.

Winner: Rickie Fowler ($33,528) ; wild card: Charles Howell III (MC). 2013 total: $4,878,348

Martin Webb Simpson

Coming off a runner-up finish in his last start, at the RBC Heritage. Was fourth here last year. It's his home course.

John Peterson

Got into the field via a T-8 finish at the Zurich Classic. That was the second top-25 of his PGA Tour career (a T-4 at the 2012 U.S. Open was the other). He's made the cut in all seven of his starts on the PGA and Web.com tours in 2013, and has made the cut in nine of 12 PGA Tour starts as a pro.

Winner: Justin Rose ($102,300) ; wild card: Cameron Tringale (MC). 2013 total: $2,791,548

Ringler Sergio Garcia

He may have a mental block win it comes to winning majors, but the fact is not many have the current form he has. Sergio should be on the weekend leaderboard.

Padraig Harrington

Been a bit of a mystery to figure out in 2013. Prior to missing cut at the Masters had recorded a pair of top-10s. Also posted two top-10s in this event in 2010 and 2011.

Winner: Billy Horschel ($1,188,000); wild card: Jordan Spieth (MC). 2013 total:$6,512,314

Masuda Rory McIlroy

The U.S. Open is right around the corner and I expect the Ulsterman is ready to make a mid-season run. It starts this week.

Russell Henley

His last round on Tour featured an impressive performance in horrible weather at Harbour Town. The course is in rough shape and a great putter is necessary. Henley fits that bill.

Winner: Jason Dufner ($23,100); wild card: Jordan Spieth (MC). 2013 total: $6,613,411
