Freshman Alison Lee earned her first college victory, leading the UCLA women's team to an six-shot team victory Tuesday at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational.
Lee, Golfweek's top-ranked freshman entering the season, shot rounds of 69-68-67 to finish with a 12-under 204 total and win by four shots over fellow UCLA freshman Bronte Law and UNLV's Dana Finkelstein at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.
The Bruins, No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, led by three shots over Arizona State through 36 holes, but shot a 13-under 275 in the final round for a 22-under 842 total. Arizona State shot 6-under 282 Tuesday and finished second at 16-under 848, followed by Miami (Fla.) at 859 and Iowa State at 862.
Lee finished second to teammate Lee at the Mason Rudolph Championship in her college debut last month. The Bruins also won that event, making them 2-for-2 this fall.
