No. 2 Alabama

2012-13 Golfweek ranking: 2

Go-to guy: Seniors Bobby Wyatt and Cory Whitsett

Season outlook: Jay Seawell lost two players from last season's national title team: senior Scott Strohmeyer and Justin Thomas, who turned professional after his sophomore year. Thomas, Golfweek's Player of the Year as a freshman, finished last season ranked No. 6 by Golfweek. But don’t expect the Tide to lose much ground.

Still on the roster are two Player of the Year candidates in seniors Bobby Wyatt and Cory Whitsett, who ranked Nos. 3 and 4 last season, respectively. Both were first-team Golfweek All-Americans last year and provide the best 1-2 punch in college golf. Also back is another senior in Trey Mullinax, an honorable mention All-American as a junior. The Crimson Tide also add two top freshmen: Robby Shelton, a former No. 1 in Golfweek's junior rankings, and Ireland's Gavin Moynihan, a member of Great Britain and Ireland's Walker Cup team. Redshirt sophomore Tom Lovelady, who played in six events last year, is another prime candidate to help fill out the lineup.

Another key addition: Oklahoma State head coach Mike McGraw, who joins the Crimson Tide as Seawell's assistant.
