Snider returns to home state as WMU women's coach
Stacy Snider will be hired as women's coach at Western Michigan, the school announced, pending university approval.
Snider, a Grand Rapids native who played at Michigan State before competing on the Futures and LPGA tours, has coached Louisiana-Monroe's women for the past two seasons. Under Snider, Louisiana-Monroe won four tournaments this season and was No. 106 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
"Coach Snider is driven to bring a championship level of play to our program and has shown her ability to do just that during her time at Louisiana-Monroe," said Kathy Beauregard, WMU's athletic director. "Her success as a coach and as a student-athlete at Michigan State University will prove beneficial as she leads WMU golf into the future."
Snider becomes only the second head coach of the WMU women's program since its inception in 1998-99, after Cindy Trout announced her retirement in May.
