FedEx Cup champ Stenson to have MRI on wrist

FedEx Cup champ Henrik Stenson is a bit worried as he sets out on a torrid stretch of tournament play, announcing that he is undergoing an MRI on his inflamed right wrist on Tuesday.
Stenson told reporters in China that a swollen right wrist and forearm are "very worrying" as he looks to try and secure the Race to Dubai title.
The Swede is slated to play in the BMW Masters this week.
Stenson was dealing with tendinitis in his wrist during the FedEx cup playoffs.
“I am hoping to get it sorted out over the next couple of days,” he told reporters, “but at the moment I’m not in great shape and I’m not certain of playing this week here in Shanghai.”
Stenson indicated that the wrist inflammation got worse during his flight from Florida to China, choosing not to hit any balls on Monday.
Stenson has a $581,758 lead on the European Tour's money list, but if he can't play, that is likely to disappear quickly.
“It’s very worrying,” he told reporters, “especially as this will be the first week of a seven-tournament stretch for me, so it’s not the best scenario to be having a wrist problem.”
