Welcome to Golfweek’s Women’s Midweek Report. We wanted to use this hump day to update you on all the latest women’s college news and give you a quick glance at what to look ahead to this weekend:

THE BIG 5

Stories you need to know now...

TEAMS

1. Alabama: The SEC arguably is the toughest women’s golf conference on the East Coast, but the Tide rolled to a 14-shot victory over Georgia amid rainy and cold weather for its first SEC title since 2010. Conference play aside, this is Alabama’s fourth consecutive victory this spring and its fifth in six spring starts.

2. Duke: The numbers associated with Duke’s ACC Championship are impressive. Consider them: A 24-shot victory resulted in a second consecutive victory, an 18th ACC title in program history, and head coach Dan Brooks’ 113th career title with the Blue Devils. In his 29 years coaching, Brooks has guided a team to at least one victory in every season but one.

3. UC Davis: The Aggies won a fourth consecutive Big West title, cementing their power in the conference. It was the most dominant of the Aggies’ four straight championships, eclipsing a 19-stroke victory two years ago. Each of UC Davis’ four conference-championship victories have been by at least 13 strokes.

4. Eastern Kentucky: The Colonels won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship for just the second time in program history, and the first time since 1996. The victory also gives Eastern Kentucky its first automatic qualifying spot into an NCAA Regional in history.

5. Oklahoma State: Oklahoma State held off Baylor and won an eighth Big 12 title on Sunday – the Cowgirls’ first since 2009. Oklahoma State finished at 41-over 905 and placed four players inside the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.

INDIVIDUALS

1. Stephanie Meadow, Alabama: An SEC Championship title helped grow Meadow’s Bama legend a little more. She’s the first Crimson Tide female golfer to win one, and it’s career win No. 6, which extends her own victory record.

2. Brittany Altomare, Virginia: Altomare’s time with the Cavaliers is drawing to a close, which is bad news for Virginia. This quiet, confident player has contributed a lot in her time on the team, and became the first Virginia female golfer to win an ACC individual title.

3. Demi Runas, UC Davis: The senior led a UC Davis sweep of the top four spots on the Big West Championship individual leaderboard. Runas became the fourth consecutive UC Davis player to win the Big West title.

4. Kristen Dorsey, Eastern Kentucky: Dorsey parred No. 18 as Jacksonville State’s Ornella Arrizon bogeyed to give the Colonels the title by one shot. Dorsey also was the individual medalist.

5. Notre Dame freshmen: Lindsey Weaver and Talia Campbell tied for medalist honors at the Big East Championship. Their 54-hole 6-under 210 totals also set a new Big East scoring record (the previous record was held by LPGA player Cindy LaCrosse from her Louisville days). Weaver and Campbell played a big role in Notre Dame’s team victory.
