If the women on the LPGA are more likely to be your daughter’s role models, you might be able to relate to the unique contest Birdy & Grace has launched.
The company is seeking a new cover girl for their catalogue who will embody “Golf’s Woman of the Year” persona. Birdy & Grace is looking for an “everyday” woman who has accomplished things that women can relate to.
Co-founders Sharon Sunoo and Teress Stephens created Birdy & Grace to provide great clothes for themselves and local golf friends. The brand caters to women ages 35-65 and features clothes that are stylish, yet practical. In fact, Sunoo and Stephens use models for their campaigns who are friends – women they feel have inspired their community.
“I want someone who we can look at and say, ‘Wow, look at her, a mother of four, avid golfer, supports XYZ cause and does it all with such grace,’ ” Sunoo said. “Anyone can nominate any worthy woman. Nominate yourself, or if you’re a daughter, son, husband, grandmother, friend, colleague of a wonderful lady who you think embodies this contest, send in your nominations.”
In addition to being named “Golf’s Woman of the Year,” the winner will fly to New York City and be taken by private car to Greenwich, Conn. The winner will work with a top fashion photographer and be used as Birdy & Grace’s feature model at the Spring 2011 photoshoot. They’ll also receive custom-fitted outfits by Birdy & Grace and a new putter by Sweet Spot.
