Peter Uihlein followed his sizzling first-round, 9-under 63 with a 2-under 70 on Friday to move into a three-way tie for the lead at the Kazakhstan Open.
Uihlein is joined by Scott Henry and Alexander Levy at 11 under in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Uihlein had four birdies and two bogeys in the second round, a day after eight birdies, an eagle and a single bogey.
“I didn’t hit my short irons particularly well today,” said Uihlein. “I pulled it on the second for my bogey. I had chances after that and didn’t take them but I drove the ball well so I gave myself opportunities. I just didn’t hit it close enough today.”
Uihlein is looking for his first Challenge Tour victory.
