Justin Timberlake sells Memphis course for $500K

Justin Timberlake reportedly put about $16 million into Mirimichi Golf Course since purchasing it in 2009, but now he’s sold it for just $500,000.

Timberlake, 33, sold the Millington, Tenn., course to Three Star Leasing LLC, which is owned by Aircon Corp. CEO Fred Edmaiston, according to the Memphis Business Journal. The course, No. 1 in Tennessee on the Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play list, has seen some changes in the past few days since its ownership shifted. PGA professional Bill Munguia was named president and the rates were changed. According to the Memphis Business Journal, the University of Memphis considered buying the course over the summer, but opted out.

Timberlake – who has been involved with golf in many ways, including a stint as tournament host for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open from 2008-12 – was born in Memphis, Tenn. While the public deed of the property sale verifies the low transaction price, there could very well be more to the sale.
