Jason Bohn introduced as Jason Bourne for opening-round tee time at The Barclays

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Things ended nicely for Jason Bohn in Round 1 of The Barclays, a homeward 3-under 33 leaving him at even-par 71. But the personable PGA Tour veteran was still talking about the beginning of the round — and he didn’t mean the bogey at his first hole.

“Here’s how my day started. I was introduced as Jason Bourne,” he laughed. “Hey, I wish I were Jason Bourne. If I were Jason Bourne I would have hit it a mile right down the middle.”

Or, even better.

“If I was Jason Bourne, I’d probably be worth millions and wouldn’t need to be out here beating myself up.”

Bourne … er, Bohn, actually did beat himself up a little as he was wide right with his opening tee shot to bogey the 10th, then added bogeys at 15, 17 and 18 to turn in 3 over.

Now Jason Bourne may have fought his way out of the jam, but Bohn isn’t confrontational. So instead, he had to play his way out, which he did with birdies at Nos. 1, 6 and 7.

There won’t be a movie made of his first-round comeback — heck, it probably won’t even get a film clip — but Bohn took a bit of pride in it. Whether it earns him a correct introduction Friday afternoon remains to be seen.
