The PGA Tour is underway on the West Coast, with this week’s action taking place in La Quinta, Calif.

We tracked all the first-round action from the Desert Classic. Catch up with what you may’ve missed…

UPDATE No. 5 (8:15 p.m. ET): Mickelson indeed is the first-round leader, here’s a look at the leaderboard at the end of the day…

UPDATE No. 4 (6:10 p.m. ET): Mickelson does indeed close with birdie! That is a 12-under 60 and a four-shot lead at the moment.

This is his third career round of 60 on the PGA Tour. According to the Tour, he’s the first player ever with three rounds of 60 or better on the circuit.

UPDATE No. 3 (5:55 p.m. ET): Mickelson can’t hole out for eagle, but he does leave himself a 10-footer for birdie. He has that for 12-under 60 and a four-shot lead.

UPDATE No. 2 (5:45 p.m. ET): It looks like the run is over. Mickelson birdied the 16th to move to 11 under but he missed a 15-footer for birdie at the 17th,

That means he needs to eagle the last to shoot 59. Still his lead is currently three.

UPDATE No. 1 (5:15 p.m. ET): Phil Mickelson, baby!

Lefty has a three-shot lead but maybe more importantly is 10 under through 15 at La Quinta Country Club. That course is a par 72, so 3 under in his final three holes means a 59. It’s eight birdies and an eagle to this point for Lefty, so we’ll see where he goes from here.
