The RBC Canadian Open resumes Saturday at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ontario.
Scott Brown and Matt Kuchar begin the third round with the lead at 12 under. Kuchar finished Friday with a 63 after making birdies on his last three holes to share the lead with Brown. Brown also shot a 63 in the second round with an eagle and five straight birdies on holes 2 through 6.
Brandt Snedeker and Canadian Nick Taylor are T-3 at 11 under while Webb Simpson is two shots back in solo fifth.
Among the most notable players to miss the cut Friday less than one week before the U.S. Open was Sergio Garcia who shot a 71 and 70 respectively to finish 1 over.
5 p.m.: Rory McIlroy is in the building! Just finished off a 6-under 64, he’s currently one behind Kuchar (thru 14) and would be in the final pairing Sunday if these results hold.
4:14 p.m.: A birdie on 14 puts Webb Simpson in second place tied with Shane Lowry and Brandt Snedeker and 12 under.
3:57 p.m.: Shane Lowry birdies No. 12 and is now T-2 at 12 under with Brandt Snedeker.
3:24 p.m.: Matt Kuchar makes his second straight birdie to sit in solo first at 13 under.
3:04 p.m.: Matt Kuchar jumps back to T-1 with a birdie on the fourth hole. He is even par through four holes.
2:50 p.m.: Matt Kuchar drops from T-1 to T-3 after recording a bogey on the third hole.
2:45 p.m.: Brandt Snedeker joins Scott Brown and Matt Kuchar in first place after a birdie on No. 3. Brown and Kuchar are both even par through two holes.
2:36 p.m.: Henrik Stenson birdied Nos. 2 and 4 to jump to T-5 at 10 under. Stenson, who shot a 66 in each of the first two rounds, is 2 under through four holes.
1:54 p.m.: Graeme McDowell birdied No. 1 and is T-6 at 9 under.
1:24 p.m.: Rory McIlroy birdied his first hole and jumped to T-7 at 8 under.
1:03 p.m.: Justin Thomas jumped to T-7 after recording three-straight birdies on holes 3-5.
12:53 p.m.: Brooks Koepka has struggled early in Saturday’s round. He began the day with three straight bogeys followed by a birdie on No. 5 and a fourth bogey on No. 6. Koepka, who has tumbled to T-59, is 3 over through six holes.
12:43 p.m.: Jonathan Byrd makes par on his final hole to finish T-7 at 8 under. He finished the third round 6-under 64, jumping 48 spots.
12:33 p.m.: Jonathan Byrd is 6 under on the round after recording his sixth birdie of the day on 17. Byrd, T-7 at 8 under, approaches his final hole of the day.
11:46 a.m.: Make that five birdies for Jonathan Byrd. Byrd recorded a birdie on the 14th hole to jump to T-13 at 7 under. He is 5 under on the round through 14 holes.
10:50 a.m.: Jonathan Byrd made his fourth birdie of the day on the 10th hole. He is T-16 at 6 under.
10:33 a.m.: A birdie on No. 4 puts Bubba Watson at even par on the round. He is T-58 at 2 under through four holes.
10:18 a.m.: With a birdie on No. 7, Jonathan Byrd is 3 under on the round and T-25 at 5 under. Byrd shot a 67 in Round 1 and a 71 on Friday.
9:45 a.m.: Bubba Watson bogeyed his first hole to drop 10 spots to T-65 at 1 under. On his fourth stroke on the par-4 hole, Watson missed his putt from just over three feet away to force a fifth stroke.
8:50 a.m.: Jonathan Byrd birdied his first hole of the day to jump 12 spots and T-43 at 3 under.
