The LPGA made its third but final stop in Indianapolis, at least for now.

The Indy Women in Tech Championship saw the end of a three-year run at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course on Sunday.

“We were beyond proud to host this LPGA Indy Women in Tech Championship for three great years and look forward to hosting professional golf in the future at some point at Brickyard Crossing,” said Jeff Williams, PGA Director of Golf at Brickyard Crossing.

“We want to thank all the fans, the volunteers, the LPGA and of course, Group 1001, specifically Dan Towriss, for being such a great partner and leader for our event.”

Tournament organizers added: “When we brought the LPGA tournament to Indianapolis, it was always our vision to host the event here for three years in order to create awareness and platform for the IWiT Foundation. Group 1001 and the IWiT Foundation remain committed to the city of Indianapolis for the long term and we could not be more excited about what’s next.”

Mi Jung Hur won the event on Sunday with her husband Kevin Wang as her caddie. She went wire-to-wire for the win, her second win this season, both times with Wang on the bag.

The course is a unique facility with four holes on the infield at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The other 14 holes are along the back straightaway.

One way the course pays homage to the racing history is to mark the bunkers with a checkered flag pattern.

Lexi Thompson won in 2017, when it was a 54-hole event. It changed to 72 holes in 2018, and Sung Hyun Park won it.

Part of the fun is the tournament winner celebrates just as the Indy 500 winner would, by chugging a big bottle of milk and kissing the bricks at the start/finish line on the track.
