Entry into the event is by invitation only, but players may request special invitations in order to gain entry. In January, players ranked in the top 200 of Golfweek/Sagarin will receive invitations via email — any player who does not receive an invitation should contact Carlton Reese via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Golfweek West Coast Junior Invitational annually assembles one of the top 50 fields in junior golf and is played on an iconic private country club course.
Winners of the Golfweek West Coast Junior Invitational earn an automatic invitation to compete in the prestigious Golfweek International Junior Invitational played Nov. 2-3 in central Florida.
The tournament is nationally ranked by Golfweek/Sagarin and Junior Golf Scoreboard and is recognized for PBE status by the American Junior Golf Association. This year’s PBE status is still under review; the following is the status from the 2018 event:
- Boys and Girls champions: 12 Stars
- Boys top 5 and Girls top 3: 8 Stars
- Boys top 10 and Girls top 5: 4 Stars
- Boys top 15 and Girls top 10: 1 Star
